About Dr. Corba
After practicing in the Lehigh Valley for over 20 years, Dr. Kimberly Legg Corba opened the first Direct Primary Care office in the Lehigh Valley on January 2, 2016. The transition from her 13-year-old insurance-based practice to the DPC model has allowed her to continue to provide quality Primary Care; without the intrusion of third parties, she is able to focus on her patients’ needs.
Dr. Corba has been continuously board-certified since 1997 by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)/AOBFP (American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians).
Before becoming a Direct Primary Care physician in January of 2016, Green Hills Direct Family Care operated as an office that accepted health insurance. Some of the hoops that insurance-based practices jump through include quality ratings by the insurance carriers; these time-consuming ratings have not been shown to improve patient care and only serve insurance companies who constantly try to cut their costs while costs for patients increase. Dr. Corba is proud to have been ranked #1 in quality measures as a family physician from 2010-2014 by Lehigh Valley Health Network. She is extremely happy that she is no longer subject to useless ratings by third parties; now it is just quality time between her and her patients.
Dr. Corba graduated with her medical degree from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993. She completed her Rotating Internship at Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center in 1994. From 1994-1995, Dr. Corba completed a year of residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital; in 1995 she decided to pursue Family Medicine. She went on to complete her Family Medicine residency at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in March 1997 after which she was an Associate Clinical Professor at PCOM (3/97-7/97) before joining Norriton Family Medicine in Norristown, PA until 2001. From 2001 until 2003 she practiced at Emmaus Avenue Family Practice; then in July 2003 she opened Green Hills Family Health Care as a solo Family Practitioner. After 12 ½ years as an insurance-based practice, Dr. Corba transitioned her office to Direct Primary Care in January 2016. Dr. Corba has been an Associate Clinical Professor with the LVHN Select program through which she precepts third-year medical students who are interested in DPC since 2014.
